THANKSGIVING DAY 2016 at THE BRANCHES - Instead of the food boxes we have traditionally done, St. Mary's is going to do something different this year. We are preparing packages for our guests who come to The Branches on a regular basis, many of whom live in tents in the woods. We will include items such as toiletries, tissues, soap, wash cloth & towel, a can opener, small flash light, Ramen noodles, hot chocolate packets, socks, gloves, scarves, hats, etc. A $25 donation would provide a very nice gift package for our guests who are most often without many of these items. If you'd rather purchase items, there is a collection basket in the parish hall.
THANKSGIVING DAY DINNER will be served from 11 am to 2 pm - We are once again going to feed 100 folks at The Branches on Thanksgiving Day. As of now, Spreading the Love in Rio Grande will provide all of the side dishes. Thrift Shop employees are doing dessert. St. Mary's will provide pre-cooked turkey breasts from Seashore Supply and St. Simeon's will be heating them.
Thanksgiving at The Branches last year was wonderful! Those of you who helped make it a success have many warm memories. Church members sat side by side with our homeless guests and enjoyed a great meal. (Please join us again.) We sent "to go" boxes into the woods and motels for those who were reluctant to join us. (And we will again.) A sign up sheet is posted in the parish hall if you would like to help with this truly wonderful event or call the church office - 368-5922. You will have a new appreciation for "Thanksgiving." Envelopes are in the pews for your donation to homeless packages and dinner at The Branches on Thanksgiving. Thank you!
THANKSGIVING DINNER was served at The Branches on Thanksgiving Day 2015. It was a great day! We then followed it with Christmas lunch on Christmas Day. Thanks to our volunteers!
